The 2023 FACM Annual County Manager Workshop was held at the Hilton Bonnet Creek in Orange County on June 29, 2023. The workshop kicked off with the introduction of the 2023-24 FACM President, Jonathan Lewis, Sarasota County Administrator. Mr. Lewis thanked outgoing President, John Hofstad, Okaloosa County Administrator, for his leadership through his Presidency.
After a brief presentation by the Strategic Partner Presentator, IEM, a comprehensive discussion on the Legislative & Statewide Issues Briefing on the 2023 Legislative Session was had by FAC’s Public Policy Department.
The lone Hot Topic issue presented included The Economic & Political Reality of Affordable Housing in Florida. Due to unforeseen circumstances, the economic portion did not occur. A panel discussion on the Political Reality of Affordable Housing in Florida was held with Jonathan Lewis, Sarasota County Administrator; Verdenia Baker, Palm Beach County Administrator; and, John Hofstad, Okaloosa County Administrator. The Annual County Manager Workshop concluded with the Whip Around Session and networking social sponsored by the IEM.
