The 2021 FACM Annual County Manager Workshop was held at the Hyatt Regency Orlando in Orange County on July 1, 2021. Outgoing President, Michele Lieberman, Alachua County, was honored for her leadership of FACM during her Presidency and the COVID-19 pandemic. Newly installed FACM President Verdenia Baker presented Ms. Lieberman with a plaque of appreciation from the FACM Board of Directors.
The County Managers Workshop then kicked off with Strategic Partner Presentations by Granicus and IBM which led into a comprehensive Legislative & Statewide Issues Update with FAC Deputy Director of Public Policy, Bob McKee, which covered recent legislative issues and the American Rescue Plan Act. Hot Topic issues presented included Affordable Housing – Florida’s Achilles Heel and Broadband for Everyone! Featuring speakers Jaimie Ross, President of the Florida Housing Coalition and Commissioner Terry Burroughs, Okeechobee County and member of the NACo Broadband Task Force along with guest speaker, Judge Gary Moore, NACo President and Jeff Scala, FACM Public Policy Advocate. The Annual County Manager Workshop concluded with the Whip Around Session and networking social sponsored by Granicus and IBM.
